Frequently asked questions

Do the hosts live on site?
Yes, Susanne & Jens live in the same house, but the living areas are kept separate from the guest area. The guest rooms are on the upper floor, giving you a lovely view of the garden, the open fields and the local farm next door.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 3 pm, check-out until 12 noon. We do not have a 24-hour reception, so it is best to let us know your arrival time before you travel.
Internet / Wi-Fi?
Whether digital detox or a working trip, the rooms offer Wi-Fi.
Bringing a dog?
We love animals. Just send us an email and we’ll check your request as quickly as we can.
Breakfast?
A tasty breakfast awaits every guest, made with regional produce. Gluten, histamine, lactose or other intolerances? Get in touch beforehand and we’ll discuss your needs individually.
Barbecue?
There are barbecue facilities on site, and a lovely stone fire pit stands in the garden.
Is there a fridge?
Whether for medication that needs cooling or simply to keep your favourite ice cream from Hanerau-Hademarschen chilled, there is a fridge for you at the guesthouse.
Can I go cycling?
Yes, the Kiel Canal cycle path runs right past us, flat and lovely. It is best to bring your own bike, we do not run a hire service ourselves.
Travelling with a baby?
A cot and a high chair are available, and there is a family discount. Just ask!
Is there free parking?
Yes, there is a parking space for you on site. No need to reserve it.
Is there a restaurant?
You can join our breakfast buffet. In the surrounding villages, just a few minutes away by car or bike, you’ll also find plenty of places to eat, and if all else fails there are delivery services too.
Is there a pool?
No, we don’t have a pool. Instead, especially in the summer months, you can enjoy a lovely, spacious garden that invites you to linger.
Are there rooms with a private bathroom?
Yes, all of our rooms have their own private bathroom.
Are there rooms with a balcony?
No, there is no balcony. But a lovely garden and a terrace invite you to relax.
Do I need to bring bed linen?
No, bed linen and towels are provided at the guesthouse.
