The path along the Kiel Canal is one of the most popular cycling routes in Germany. Over roughly 98 km the canal links the North Sea with the Baltic, the bank is flat, well surfaced and almost always sheltered between dyke and water. The ships keep you company the whole way.
The guesthouse sits right on the route and makes an ideal stage stop. Set off after breakfast, ride a day loop and be back with us in the evening. Farm cafés and spots by the water invite you to take a break along the way.

Tours and ferries
You cross the canal on the little canal ferries, which is part of the fun. If you like, combine the canal route with the Elbe cycle path for a multi-day tour. For day trips both directions work, towards Rendsburg with its high bridge and transporter ferry, or west to the Hochdonn high bridge.
